Prof. Dr. Dagmar Fischer has been elected a senator of the Academy of Public Sciences in Erfurt (www.akademie-erfurt.de) and will help shape the Academy’s work in the future. With this appointment, the Academy is strengthening its interdisciplinary focus. Prof. Fischer has been a full member of the Academy’s Mathematics and Natural Sciences Class since 2020. Founded in 1754 and thus the third-oldest German scholarly society, the Academy, together with the state’s universities, colleges, and other scientific institutions, forms an intellectual hub in the Free State of Thuringia. Through its meetings, publications, support for science, and academic research projects, it not only enriches the Thuringian research landscape but also promotes interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary exchange and maintains close ties with prominent figures, research institutions, and scholarly associations around the world.
