Prof. Dr. Dagmar Fischer, a licensed pharmacist with diploma in pharmacy, completed her studies in pharmacy at the Julius Maximilian University in Würzburg. After her approbation, she completed her doctorate and habilitation at the Philipps University of Marburg in the field of pharmaceutical technology and biopharmacy. During her habilitation, she joint the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, TX, USA. From 2004-2008 she was active as Head of Preclinical Research and Development at Antisense Pharma GmbH. From 2008 to 2020, she was Professor for Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy at Friedrich-Schiller University Jena, and since 2020, she is Chair for Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.

She is a member of numerous advisory boards and executive committees in academia and industry, was the president of the German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG 2020-2023), and is a full member of the Akademie gemeinnütziger Wissenschaften zu Erfurt.
