Professor Dirk M. Guldi has received the prestigious Invitational Fellowship for Research in Japan, funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). As a hallmark of international research prestige, the JSPS Invitational Fellowship catalyzes elite scientific exchange by bridging visionary global scholars with Japan’s premier institutions to accelerate breakthrough discoveries and forge enduring institutional partnerships.
As part of his research visit, Professor Guldi is meeting colleagues at Keio University (Professor Taku Hasobe and his group), the University of Tokyo (Professor Nobuhiro Yanai), Tohoku University (Professor Ryota Sakamoto), Nagoya University (Professor Yutaka Matsuo and his group), and the University of Tsukuba (Professors Ishizuka, Takeshi Akasaka and Takahiko Kojima).
During his visit, Professor Guldi was also honoured as the 89th recipient of the prestigious IOCF Zen-ichi Yoshida Lectureship. This distinction recognises outstanding contributions to organic chemistry and provides a platform for leading researchers to share their latest findings with the Japanese scientific community. His lectures address adaptive light management, including spectral up- and down-conversion and energy storage.
