Professor Dirk M. Guldi participated in the 1st International Symposium on Artificial Photosynthesis, hosted by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu, China, from May 29–31, 2026. The symposium brought together leading researchers from around the world to discuss recent advances in the fundamental science and technological applications of artificial photosynthesis and solar energy conversion.

As part of the scientific program, Dirk Guldi presented a lecture entitled Advanced Light Management. The presentation highlighted current strategies for controlling light harvesting, energy transfer, and charge-separation processes in complex molecular and nanoscale systems. These approaches are central to the development of more efficient platforms for solar energy conversion and artificial photosynthesis.

In addition to his scientific contribution, Dirk Guldi attended the Editorial Board meeting of ACS Artificial Photosynthesis. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the journal’s growth, emerging research trends, and future initiatives aimed at supporting and shaping this rapidly evolving
