Anja trained as a biological technical assistant in Quedlinburg. She worked in a biotechnology startup company, which focused on the production of antibodies in food plants for animals in factory farming. Her main task was protein purification. She has been working at FAU in Erlangen since 2006 in the Institute of Biochemistry, Department of Biology. There she contributed working in the tissue culture for several projects, such as the Cass-project which was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In May 2022, she joined the Bioinorganic Chemistry group as a technical assistant.
