The Wöhler PhD-prize for the best dissertation in Inorganic Chemistry has been awarded to Dr. Bastian Rösch. Dr. Rösch received his PhD degree at the Chair of Inorganic and Organometallic Chemistry led by Prof. Dr. Sjoerd Harder.

His thesis entitled „Moving Frontiers in Organometallic and Low-valent Alkaline Earth Metal Chemistry“ describes exceptional low-valent complexes of magnesium and calcium. His dogma-breaking research was published in most renowned journals [1,2].

This special PhD-prize is not only a personal award but also underscores the very good research possibilities at the Erlanger Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy.
