The first prize of the Young Investigator Poster Competition of the „Chemistry & Biology of Peptides Gordon Research Conference“ 2022 in Oxnard, California, has been awarded to Sewar Alkhashrom, a Doctoral Student in the lab of Prof. Jutta Eichler (Medicinal Chemistry).

The research presented on her poster entitled „A peptide inhibitor of the human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) core nuclear egress complex“, is a result of a joint DFG-funded project with the labs of Prof. Manfred Marschall (FAU Institute for Clinical and Molecular Virology) and Prof. Ines Neundorf (University of Cologne).
