Invitation to the Graduation Ceremony on July 5, 2019

The Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy cordially invites all 2018-19 graduates, as well as any other interested parties, to this year’s graduation ceremony, which will include the distribution of diplomas and the conferment of Master’s and doctoral awards. This ceremonial event will take place on Friday, July 5, 2019, in Lecture Hall C1 at Nikolaus-Fiebiger-Str. 10 at 4:00 p.m. (16:00). A salutatory speech to all guests will be given by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schatz, Dean of Students for Chemistry and Molecular Science.

Diplomas for the Master’s degree programs in Chemistry and Molecular Science will be presented, as well as the Zerweck Master’s and doctoral prizes. Furthermore, doctoral awards from the Gerda Weller Foundation and the Fritz and Maria Hofmann Prize will be conferred. A celebratory lecture will be held (in German) by Dr. Karsten Meyer on the topic “Yin and Yang of Radioactivity – Risks and Chances of a Fascinating Chemistry.” This event will enjoy musical accompaniment by the chemistry band Free Radicals. Following the formalities, guests will have an opportunity to socialize at a small reception in the foyer of the Chemikum.
