Tao Wei obtained his PhD in 2015 from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). During 2016-2021 he worked as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow under Prof. Andreas Hirsch at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. From  2021 to Feb. 2024 he has been conducting independent research as a Habilitation. Since Mar. 2024, he has been serving as a Junior group leader in the same department. His research interest lies in the synthesis, chemistry, and properties of synthetic carbon allotropes (e.g., fullerene, carbon nanotube, and graphene) and hybrids.

Motivated undergraduate students who are interested in our research topics are encouraged to join our group for BSc, HiWi and MSc projects. Please contact Dr. Tao Wei  by email or directly at the office (3-039)

Applicants with a strong track record who wish to apply for external funding (e.g., Alexander von Humboldt, MSCA Marie Curie) are encouraged to get in touch via email.
