Interested in studying in Erlangen for a semester or two?

The study programs Chemistry and Molecular Science offer a great opportunity for international exchange students to spend one or two semesters (the winter and/or summer term) in Germany.

While our Bachelor-level courses are taught exclusively in German, the Master‘s courses are offered in English. This means that exchange students applying to take courses in our Bachelor’s programs need to provide a German language certificate for Level B2, and exchange students applying to take courses in or Master’s programs need to provide an English language certificate for Level B2. Normally, no official language test certificate is required by FAU, it is sufficient if the sending university confirms that the student’s language level meets the requirements of FAU. But please note that attending Master’s courses requires appropriate prior knowledge and advanced specialist expertise in the chemical field covered.

Information on courses offered can be found in the module guide or schedules on our MSc-homepage, or on Campo. Selection of courses must be individually approved by the module coordinators and  finally accepted by the ERASMUS+ coordinator.

The Central Office for International Affairs (S-International) offers an information website for international students which provides an excellent overview of important resources and programs for international students planning to study at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. We strongly recommend that all ERASMUS+ incoming students at FAU attend the annual welcome events organized by S-International for incoming students and take advantage of this great opportunity to establish contact with local students as early as possible (please note: https://www.fau.eu/outreach/events/first-year-students-welcome-event/).

Website Study at FAU

Please plan your stay at FAU as early as possible, as in reality the organization usually takes longer than expected. It is also currently not so easy to find suitable (affordable) accommodation for the semester!
