Research

The focal point of our research is the synthesis of unprecedented heteroatom-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with the aim i) to investigate the influence of various heteroatoms on their fundamental characteristics and ii) to apply the resulting compounds as functional materials in organic optoelectronic devices.

While the research program is clearly synthesis-driven, fundamental understanding and function of the resulting compounds are essential to him. To achieve these goals, the research benefits from numerous interdisciplinary collaborations.
