Dirk M. Guldi at MATSUS2026

Dirk M. Guldi, Professor at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and Spokesperson of FAU Solar, delivered a plenary lecture at the international conference MATSUS 2026, held in Barcelona, Spain, from March 23–27, 2026. As a leading expert in the field of functional carbon-rich materials and photophysical processes, Guldi was invited to present his latest research on “Materials for Adaptive Light Management.”
In his presentation, Dirk M. Guldi highlighted recent advances in the design of responsive molecular and nanoscale systems capable of dynamically controlling light absorption, conversion, and emission. These adaptive materials hold significant promise for next-generation technologies, including energy conversion, smart photonic devices, and sustainable optoelectronic applications. By integrating insights from chemistry, physics, and materials science, the work underscores the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing global challenges in energy and information technologies.
The invitation to deliver a plenary lecture at MATSUS 2026 reflects the international recognition of Dirk M. Guldi’s contributions to advanced materials research and reinforces FAU’s strong presence in cutting-edge scientific innovation.
