Dirk Guldi appointed Associate Editor of Chemical Science
Professor Dirk M. Guldi, Chair of Physical Chemistry I at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), has been appointed Associate Editor of Chemical Science as of 1 March 2026. Chemical Science is the flagship open-access journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry and publishes leading research across the full breadth of the chemical sciences.
In his new role, Professor Guldi will contribute to shaping the journal’s scientific direction and oversee the peer-review process for submissions in areas closely related to his research expertise, including solar energy conversion, nanocarbons, charge-transfer processes, and functional molecular and nanomaterials.
Professor Guldi is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to the understanding and control of photo-induced electron and energy transfer in molecular and nanoscale systems. His research focuses on developing functional materials and architectures for light-driven processes and sustainable energy conversion.
The appointment reflects Professor Guldi’s longstanding scientific leadership and his continued engagement in advancing excellence in chemical research and scholarly publishing.
