Our team found that capsaicin, camphor, and caffeic acid inhibit adipogenesis and increase lipolysis in human SGBS adipocytes, accompanied by reduced lipid accumulation, downregulation of adipogenic markers, and elevated lipolytic gene expression. Network pharmacology and gene expression analyses further indicated that these compounds act through TRPV1-linked signalling and key metabolic pathways, with capsaicin and caffeic acid showing synergistic effects, highlighting their potential as candidates for anti-obesity interventions.
