Highlight: SolTech – Strengthening Solar Innovation across Bavaria

We are pleased to share that the Solar Technologies Go Hybrid (SolTech) initiative of the Bavarian government continues to be a cornerstone of our collective efforts toward sustainable solar energy. Through ongoing support, this network enables us to deepen the connections between basic science, material innovation and real-world application. In particular, our FAU-based “carbon-rich hybrids” key lab thrives under this partnership, allowing us to push the frontiers of photocatalysis, photovoltaics and advanced carbon-based materials.
We were delighted to contribute to this year’s SolTech meeting with several highlights from our group: Dr. Alejandro Cadranel, Elena A. Mack and Lukas A. Mai each delivered outstanding (flash-) talks on their latest research, while Lukas Santiago Diaz, Fabià Boixadós Meinhard and Lukas A. Mai presented thought-provoking posters, sparking lively discussions and exchange. Events like these underscore the collaborative spirit and scientific excellence that define the SolTech community.
The funding from the Bavarian government is not just financial support — it is an expression of trust in the vision of a greener, solar-powered future. We are deeply grateful to the funding agencies for believing in our mission and enabling the scientific exploration that such an ambitious project demands.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Thelakkat and his team, especially Susanne Wolf, whose leadership and organizational dedication made SolTech an inspiring and productive platform.
As the Guldi Group, we look forward to continuing our journey within SolTech, pursuing ever deeper insight into light–matter interactions, charge dynamics and solar energy conversion. We remain energized by the trust placed in us, and motivated to deliver impactful, sustainable advances.
