Guldi Group Chair Excursion 2025

This year our chair excursion took us to Weyermann® Specialty Malts in Bamberg. The family-run business, with a history spanning over 140 years, is the world market leader in the manufacturing of caramel- and roasting malts. On a two-hour guided tour through the historic premises, we gained fascinating insights into both the company’s history and its modern production processes. We followed the journey of the grain step by step – starting with quality control in the lab, all the way to international shipping from the logistics center. A real highlight was the visit of the roasting facilities and the germination box, giving us a rare behind-the-scenes look. Of course, no tour would be complete without tasting: we tried a variety of malts, followed by beer specialties brewed in Weyermann’s very own brewery.

With their knowledge, enthusiasm, and warm way of guiding us, they made the excursion a truly memorable experience.
