New preprint on wireless magnetomechanical neuromodulation
We are excited to share our newly released preprint: “Remote magnetomechanical neuromodulation uncovers a novel therapeutic mechanism for alleviating Parkinsonian symptoms in freely moving mice“
The study introduces a new innovative wireless magnetomechanical approach targeting endogenous ion-channels for remote neuromodulation in Parkinson’s disease. This technology offers a minimally invasive alternative to traditional systems typically requiring implanted electrodes and hardware, which may pose surgical risks and limit adaptability.
Thank you to Sarah Hescham, Anouk Wolters and the excellent multidisciplinary team from Maastricht University for this collaborative research blending neuroengineering with mechanobiology.
