The Photochemistry Community Convenes in Aachen – Strong Presence from FAU Solar

32nd International Conference on Photochemistry (ICP2025 Aachen) 13th - 18th July 2025

The 32nd International Conference on Photochemistry (ICP 2025) is currently underway, taking place from July 13 to 18, 2025, in Aachen, Germany. This prestigious event is co-organized by Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and RWTH Aachen University. Professor Dirk M. Guldi, Chair of the Physical Chemistry I department and the spokesperson for FAU Solar, is serving as a co-organizer for this conference, which stands as the oldest and most esteemed global forum dedicated to the fields of photochemistry and photophysics.

With over 500 scientists from around the globe in attendance, ICP provides a platform for discussing the latest advances in photochemistry, including solar energy conversion, environmentally-friendly chemical processes, and molecular photomedicine. The conference kicked off this past Sunday with a public lecture by Professor Daniel Nocera from Harvard University, a pioneer in sustainable energy concepts. His talk on “The Bionic Leaf: Surpassing the C- and N-Fixation Processes of Nature” attracted a broad audience.

Numerous doctoral candidates from the Guldi Group are actively participating, seizing the opportunity to present their research and engage with the interdisciplinary conference community, fostering invaluable connections. This conference offers an ideal forum for exchanging ideas and advancing the development of photochemical sciences.

Professor Dirk M. Guldi and the FAU are delighted to welcome both curious minds and experts to Aachen, where they can explore the impressive advancements and diverse applications of photochemistry. For more information about the conference and the complete program, please visit: www.icp2025.de.
