Engaging Lecture by Prof. Dr. Georgios Katsoukis from the University of Twente

We had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Dr. Georgios Katsoukis from the University of Twente to our group on 16th June 2025. Prof. Katsoukis delivered an enlightening lecture on “Tuning Photo- and Electrocatalytic Reactivity with Ultrathin Oxide Membranes.” His presentation provided valuable insights into the advancement of catalytic processes, emphasizing the role of ultrathin oxide membranes in enhancing reactivity.

This event was particularly special for us as Prof. Katsoukis completed his doctoral studies within the Guldi Group. His journey from a Ph.D. student to a distinguished academician stands as a testament to the strength of our research environment and the potential growth paths for our current members.

Following the lecture, our group had the opportunity to join Prof. Katsoukis for a visit to the Erlangen Bergkirchweih. This traditional festival provided a vibrant backdrop for further discussions and camaraderie, strengthening the bonds within our academic community.

We look forward to future collaborations with Prof. Katsoukis and are enthusiastic about the inspiring ideas emerging from such interactions.
