Insights into food defense
As part of the 76th working conference of the Bavarian Regional Association of the Food Chemistry Society (Lebensmittelchemische Gesellschaft), students of the study program Food Chemistry, doctoral students and researchers in Food Chemistry at Friedrich–Alexander–Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg took part in an excursion to the Bundeswehr Administrative Center in Munich.
Food defense, the protection of our food and drinking water systems from criminally or terrorist-motivated manipulation, is an important social challenge that also requires the expertise of food chemists. During the excursion, the students and FAU researchers were able to find out about the latest developments in food defense and other current topics in the field of food chemistry.
