Dr. Christhy Vanessa Ruiz Madroñero (IZNF 02.138) obtained her first degree in Physical Engineering from Universidad del Cauca in Colombia, then a Master of Nanoscience, Material and Processes from Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Cataluña, Spain, and her PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Campus Manizales. Her doctoral research was dedicated to the development and characterization of hybrid materials based on zinc hydroxide salts and phenolic compounds with antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. In the CTFM lab, Christhy now focuses on the preparation of nanostructured surfaces and their exploitation in electrocatalysis.
